    Personal Experience & Biography

    Mrs. Asma Geitany is a highly skilled clinical psychologist with over 15 years of professional experience in the field. She is licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon, and she is an esteemed member of the Lebanese Order of Psychologists.

    Mrs. Geitany earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Balamand in Lebanon, subsequently obtaining a Master’s degree in both Clinical Psychology and School Psychology from the same institution. This solid academic foundation has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of psychological principles and practices.

    Throughout her career, Mrs. Geitany has worked in diverse settings, including educational institutions, rehabilitation centers, and organizations dedicated to supporting victims of violence against women across the UAE, Lebanon, and the Sultanate of Oman. This extensive experience has enriched her understanding of various cultural contexts and has fine-tuned her ability to work effectively with clients of all ages and backgrounds.

    Mrs. Geitany specializes in providing therapy for children and adults experiencing psychological distress and mental health challenges. Her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, managing challenging behaviors, personality disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, traumas, and psychosis.

    Her foundational training is rooted in a psychodynamic approach, which emphasizes the exploration of the unconscious mind and childhood experiences. This therapeutic method helps to uncover unresolved traumas that may be influencing an individual’s current well-being. Furthermore, Mrs. Geitany is adept at conducting a variety of psychological and psychoeducational assessments, including evaluations for personality, ADHD, Autism, cognitive functioning, and learning disabilities.

    Mrs. Geitany earned her BA in psychology from University of Balamand, Lebanon, followed by a MA in both clinical and school psychology from the same institution.

    Her experience working in schools, rehabilitation centers and associations for violence against women in UAE, Lebanon and Sultanate of Oman, has provided Mrs. Geitany with an extensive background to work with patients from different age ranges and culture backgrounds.

    Mrs. Geitany works in both individual and group environments with children, adolescents, adults, couples and the elderly suffering from psychological distress and mental illness, including but not limited to: challenging behaviors, ADHD, Autism, intellectual disability, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, panic attacks, phobia, OCD, PTSD and Psychosis.

    In addition, Mrs. Geitany is trained for conducting psychometric assessments (IQ & projective tests) and treats patients using psychodynamic and play based therapy.
